Coordinate geometry is the bridge between shapes and equations. It starts with the number line, adds a second one to make the (x, y) plane, and shows how every point gets an address of across then up.
From there a line becomes a rule connecting x and y, which leads to slope, the equation y = mx + c, and building a line from two points. The track finishes with distance, midpoint, parallel and perpendicular lines, and using coordinates to prove a shape is what it claims to be.
